Boros Taxes takes the disruptive hatebear core of Mono White Taxes and adds nonbasic land hate, aggressive threats, and cheap removal to improve closing speed. While Mono White can be built to prioritize either aggression or attrition, Boros is almost always an aggro deck.

Mana Crypt has historically been the signature pointed card for Boros, with many players associating the deck with 'Sol' mana and a large number of 2W and 2R cost threats.

With some lists having nearly 70% of its spells printed in the last 5 years, Boros is one of the largest beneficiaries of Wizard of the Coast's increased production of new sets.
