Time Vault combines Time Vault with an untapping effect such as Manifold Key to take infinite turns. Compared to other A + B combos, the deck has several advantages: both halves can be found with artifact tutors, there are many redundant untappers, untappers have utility outside of comboing, and the mana cost to deploy the combo is relatively inexpensive in both quantity and colors.

The combo being compact combined with numerous untappers and artifact tutors creates many paths to assembling A + B without occupying a large amount of deck space solely dedicated to comboing. This offers the deck builder flexibility when constructing the supporting shell. Most lists play artifacts with powerful activated abilities such as Mana Vault and The One Ring to leverage the untappers.

White and blue offer quality interaction through counterspells and premium removal, while green offers land tutors that find Tolarian Academy and Urza's Saga, two commonly played pointed cards that encourage and compliment artifact density.
